Position: Sterile Processing Tech II, Per Diem – Westwood Main OR
About: Under the general direction of the Sterile Processing Tech Manager and the Management Services Officers (MSO), this position serves as an instrument technician within the Surgical Supply division of the main operating rooms. The role involves processing surgical instrumentation in a decontamination setting, assembling and sterilizing instrument trays, and operating sterilization equipment necessary for surgical procedures. Responsibilities include using steam and H2O2 sterilizers, sonic equipment, washers, heat sealers, and ensuring the proper storage, dating, and rotation of supplies in accordance with guidelines.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; working knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile fields; demonstrated skills in maintenance and cleaning of instrumentation; familiarity with decontamination equipment and sterilizers; knowledge of bacteriology and medical terminology preferred; strong oral and written communication skills; ability to work well in a team and under pressure; capability to lift surgical trays up to 25lbs and handle surgical case carts up to 200lbs; standing for extended periods.
