Position: Special Events Supervisor
About: The Community Recreation Department manages, maintains and operates all City of Coral Gables parks and recreation facilities, including the War Memorial Youth Center, Venetian Pool, Salvadore and William H. Kerdyk Biltmore Tennis Centers, Adult Activity Center, Coral Gables Golf & Country Club, Granada Golf Course and all active and passive parks. They are responsible for a variety of special events throughout the year such as the Holiday Tree Lighting, Eggstreme Egg Hunt, 4th of July festivities, Farmers Market, Gables Family Literacy Festival and more.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Recreation, or related field; 3+ years of experience in planning, coordinating, and executing special events; Strong leadership and supervisory skills; Excellent communication and organizational abilities; Knowledge of budgeting and financial management; Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols for events; Customer-focused mindset; Detail-oriented and able to multitask effectively
