Position: Special Events Manager / Atlanta, GA (Onsite),6 Months Contract
About: The Special Events Manager position at Atlanta Public Schools involves planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of events and projects in support of Client priorities. The role requires working closely with various departments to organize events such as the Back to School BASH, Silver Star Retirement Luncheon, Client Student Recognition Program, and other assigned projects. The incumbent will be responsible for building relationships with students, parents, alumni, partners, and key stakeholders to ensure successful event execution and volunteer coordination, working nights and weekends as needed for event preparation and implementation.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality marketing or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Valid Georgia driver’s license and access to private transportation; 5 years of event planning experience, including non-professional or volunteer work, and experience in budget planning and financial management; Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills, attention to detail, passion for events, and dedication to guest experience; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, collaboration tools, Event Management System, and knowledge of industry trends in event management
