Position: Sous Chef – Overland Park Convention Center
About: Aramark is currently seeking a Sous Chef to support the Overland Park Convention Center in Overland Park, KS. The Sous Chef is responsible for developing and executing culinary solutions to meet production, presentation, and service standards at the convention center. Located in the vibrant Kansas City suburb of Overland Park, Kansas, the Overland Park Convention Center hosts an average of 200 events annually on a sprawling 26-acre property, offering over 100,000 sq. ft. of versatile meeting and exhibition space. Recognized for delivering exceptional experiences, the center caters to a diverse array of events and has received prestigious accolades for its excellence in operations.
Requirements: Culinary degree preferred or at least 3 years of related experience in a management role required; Pastry or dessert experience preferred; Previous experience in special events, hospitality, or catering required; Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession; Ability to maintain effective client and customer rapport for mutually beneficial business relationships required; Must have excellent communication and organizational skills; Must be comfortable working in a collaborative team dynamic; Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs. and ability to stand for extended periods of time; Must have availability to work event-based hours including evening, weekend, and potentially holiday hours.
