Position: Sommelier job
About: High volume restaurant in one of New York’s most affluent neighborhoods. High check average, can average $1,200.00 gross per week. The Sommelier will support the Beverage Program to maintain high standards of quality and service while maximizing profits. The Sommelier will report to the Chef Sommelier and the Director of Food & Beverage.
Requirements: Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language; Willing to work a flexible schedule and holidays; Be a self-motivator and motivator of others; Work in a safe, prudent and organized manner; In-depth knowledge of food and preparation; Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position, or proper certification; Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time; Excellent communication and organization skills; Maintain clean and healthy personal hygiene and grooming; May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Available to work late nights, holidays, and long days as necessary.
