Position: Sommelier job
About: Major Food Group is hiring experienced and qualified Sommeliers to join our team at Carbone. Carbone is an Italian-American restaurant created by Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi, and Jeff Zalaznick, paying homage to the essence of the great Italian-American restaurants of mid-20th century New York while incorporating modern culinary techniques. Familiar dishes like Seafood Salad, Linguini Vongole, Lobster Fra Diavola, Chicken Scarpariello, and Veal Parmesan are elevated to a new level at Carbone.
Requirements: Experience as a Sommelier in an upscale, high-volume restaurant; CMS or WSET certifications preferred or equivalent from another accredited wine institution; Extensive knowledge of wine and wine service techniques; Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays; Positive attitude and ‘guest-first’ mindset; Passion for providing exemplary guest service; Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency; Clean and organized working habits; Commitment to learning and continuous improvement; Ability to think quickly on your feet and multitask with ease; Ability to take direction and communicate effectively
