Position: Shift Lead
About: The Shift Lead plays a critical part of our daily leadership support. Shift Leads support the cafe by ensuring employees are customer-focused, productive, and following all policies and procedures throughout their assigned shift. They will assume cafe responsibility anytime they are on the floor and will serve as a leader-on-duty, often collaborating with other internal leaders to ensure smooth operations. Shift Leads are expected to be aware of the needs, policies, and procedures of the cafe and are expected to delegate tasks to the team throughout the shift. They are responsible for sharing feedback with management regarding shift outcomes and cafe needs.
Requirements: Full-time employee (30-35 hours per week) with holiday and weekend availability; Must be able to maintain a positive demeanor under stress with both staff and patrons; Exercises good time management and approaches all tasks with a sense of urgency; Has a logical and methodological approach to problem-solving; Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality; Is resourceful in challenging situations and shows excellent customer service at all times; Demonstrates good leadership skills and is empathetic and supportive when engaging staff; Is able to communicate clearly, honestly, and promptly; Is motivated, flexible, and professional at all times; Practices good judgment in all situations; Must be customer-focused and set priorities accordingly, helping coach staff in understanding proactive customer service.
