Position: Server, Promise Academy Kitchen
About: Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ), a renowned education and poverty-fighting organization based in New York, is seeking a dedicated Server for the Promise Academy Kitchen Department. The Server will play a crucial role in providing dining services in the HCZ community’s dining room, exceeding hospitality and service standards while embodying the core values of the HCZ Kitchen.
Requirements: High school diploma; Valid DOH NYC Food Protection Certificate; Good interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate excellent customer service; Minimum two years experience in the food service/customer service; Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions; Basic culinary knowledge of product identification, terminology, and production; Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations, including handling guest complaints and disputes; Effective listening, understanding, and clarifying concerns and issues raised by team members and guests; Responsible for achieving on-site certifications provided by the employer
