Position: Senior Development Specialist – Foundation Special Events
About: At Houston Methodist, the Senior Development Specialist is responsible for providing support of a variety of projects and the execution of initiatives within the Foundation’s Special Events unit. The Senior Development Specialist relies on appropriate resources to collect relevant data, compile information for management decisions, and ensures the successful execution of related projects. The projects for this role are minimally anticipated, established and directly linked to the evolution of the Foundation’s operational focus and accomplishment of goals. Under the guidance of management, this position assists with creating new donor pipeline strategies through the coordinator of special fundraising and community outreach in-person and virtual events for Methodist and the Foundation. Events include bi-annual gala, specialist receptions, luncheons, dinners, tours and other events involving Senior HM Executives, Board of Director, and other high level volunteers and prospective contributors.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required; 5 years’ experience in communications, development, media relations or marketing, two years of which must be in project management/coordination/event planning; Experience in healthcare fundraising/development preferred
