Position: School Cook I, II – Noelani Elementary
About: The Hawaii State Department of Education is seeking a School Cook II to join their team. The position involves planning, coordinating, and preparing meals in a school food services program, ensuring timely meal service and adherence to standardized recipes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in quantity cooking and demonstrate proficiency in kitchen safety and sanitation practices.
Requirements: Education Requirement: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience Requirements: 1 1/2 years of specialized experience in quantity cooking in a restaurant, hotel, hospital, school, or institution. General Experience: Experience in preparing and cooking food, such as handling ingredients and kitchen equipment. Non-Qualifying Experience: Limited experience in serving food or cleaning dishes. Substitution of Training for Experience: Possession of an associate’s degree in Food Service or completion of a substantially full-time curriculum in quantity food preparation and cooking.
