Position: School Baker – Puohala Elementary
About: The Hawaii State Department of Education is seeking a School Baker for a full-time position at a school facility. The School Baker will be responsible for preparing baked goods to meet meal service times and ensuring food quality standards are met for students and staff members.
Requirements: Education Requirement: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience Requirements: Six (6) months of general work experience as an apprentice in a kitchen with basic baking skills; One (1) year of specialized work experience as a baker in a food service setting. Non-Qualifying Experience: Limited baking experience is not accepted. Substitutions Allowed: Associate’s degree in food service or culinary arts program may substitute for experience. Quality of Experience: Demonstrated ability to perform quantity baking activities. Appropriate training and hands-on experience required.
