Position: School Baker – Kalihi Kai Elementary
About: This job posting is for a School Baker position in the Hawaii State Department of Education. The School Baker will be responsible for preparing baked goods in a school food services environment, ensuring timely production and adherence to standardized recipes. The role involves weighing, measuring, mixing ingredients, baking a variety of goods, setting up serving counters, and maintaining cleanliness in work areas. The School Baker will also receive provisions, handle inventory, and may provide guidance to cafeteria helpers.
Requirements: Education Requirement: Graduation from high school or equivalent; Experience Requirements: Six (6) months of general work experience as a kitchen apprentice or helper, and one (1) year of specialized experience as a baker in a food service setting. Substitutions Allowed: Possession of an associate’s degree in a food service/culinary arts program may substitute for required experience.
