Position: General Manager (New Restaurant within Hotel)

About: Savory Hospitality is a restaurant and bar consulting firm headquartered in Southern California. They’re currently looking for a General Manager who will oversee operations for an up-and-coming Californian-Mediterranean restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:
– Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring high standards of food quality, service, and cleanliness.
– Lead by example by engaging with guests, building relationships, and fostering repeat business.
– Forecast revenues to guide scheduling, purchasing, and cost management.
– Curate and manage our cocktail and wine programs, including staff training on pairings and service.
– Mentor and lead a diverse team, creating a positive and motivated work environment.
– Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability, including promotional events and marketing campaigns.
– Plan and execute private events, from corporate functions to special occasions, ensuring seamless service and guest satisfaction.
– Manage labor, food, and beverage cost controls to achieve financial targets.
– Monitor market trends and competitors to adjust operating strategies for continuous growth.
– Collaborate with the culinary team to curate seasonal menus and special event offerings.
– Analyze financial performance and provide regular reports to ownership.
– Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback with professionalism and tact.

Requirements: Proven experience as a Restaurant General Manager or similar leadership role, preferably in a steakhouse or fine dining environment; deep knowledge of cocktails, wine, and food pairings, with a strong background in bar and beverage program management; extensive experience in event planning and execution, with a proven track record of successful events; exceptional leadership skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proficiency with restaurant management software and POS systems; strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and controlling costs; flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
