Position: Sales Account Manager (Event Specialist)

About: Full-time position available with the Convention & Entertainment Facilities Department – Sales Division located at 301 West 13th Street. Salary Range: $24.77-$37.16/hour. Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Application Deadline Date: December 16, 2024. Responsibilities include handling all sales activities from lead generation through the closing of the sale, new business development in all event categories, increasing sales, addressing customer needs, ensuring positive client interaction, providing site tours of all Convention and Entertainment Facilities venues, possessing excellent communication abilities and negotiation skills, being highly motivated to overcome objections, and exceeding quarterly and annual sales goals. Qualifications require an accredited bachelor’s degree in hospitality/event management, public relations, or marketing; OR an accredited bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of experience in sales, marketing, supervising event operations, event coordination, logistics and/or arena/convention management; OR High school graduation and five (5) years of experience in sales, marketing, supervising event operations, event coordination, logistics and/or arena/convention management. Preference is given to those with a minimum of three (3) years of hospitality and/or convention sales experience. May be required to possess a valid state-issued driver’s license in accordance with City of KCMO policies. May also be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen as prescribed by the City.
