Position: Retail Food Safety Specialist
About: Wakefern Food Corp. is the largest retailer-owned cooperative in the United States, supporting its members’ retail operations under various banners like ShopRite, Price Rite, The Fresh Grocer, and more. With a focus on helping independent retailers compete effectively, Wakefern provides a range of services including technology, private label development, and procurement practices. This position is within the Quality Assurance Division team responsible for ensuring food safety compliance and continuous improvement in retail locations.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Environmental Health, or related field required; certification as Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) or Certified Professional in Food Safety (CP-FS) required; strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations; experience in implementing workflows, guidance documents, and sanitation SOPs; excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills; valid driver’s license with flexibility for travel; ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
