Position: Residential Youth Caregiver – Relocation to Hershey, PA Required
About: Milton Hershey School (MHS) is a renowned private school offering a career-focused education to students from pre-K through 12th grade from disadvantaged backgrounds. Founded in 1909 by Milton and Catherine Hershey, the school is fully endowed, providing comprehensive support for students and staff to thrive. MHS is currently seeking married couples to serve as flex houseparents, residing in on-campus student homes and providing guidance to a small group of students.
Requirements: Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings; this is a two-person job for couples who have been legally married for at least two years; both spouses should be age 27 or older; no more than three dependent children may reside in the student home; abide by campus guidelines including a smoke-free, weapon-free environment and no alcohol while on duty; limitations on pets with only fish and one approved breed of dog permitted; valid driver’s license; ability to become certified to drive student home vans; comfortable leading students in devotions and attending Sunday chapel services; high school diploma or GED required; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; must demonstrate a high degree of integrity; both spouses must submit individual employment applications.
Benefits: Salary of $43,825 per person (a total compensation package of approximately $150,000 per couple which includes free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more); comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, health savings and flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability options, and retirement savings; relocation assistance and paid training provided; schedule of nine days on followed by three days off with personal time during student school hours; three-week paid summer vacation.
