Position: Registrar and Collections Specialist
About: The Science Museum of Virginia, located at Broad Street Station, is seeking a meticulous Registrar and Collections Specialist to join their Science and Research Content team. The role involves shaping the future of the Northern Virginia Science Museum, managing all aspects of collections for exhibits, and contributing to the preservation and documentation of diverse collections including natural history specimens, vehicles, and archival materials.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; familiarity with Past Perfect Museum Software and museum registration processes; strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace; project management experience; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; demonstrated expertise in museum registrar duties and collections care practices; prior experience in a museum collections department is a plus
