Position: RECREATION SERVICES MANAGER
About: This position is for a non-exempt role in professional recreation work, assisting in planning, organizing, and implementing recreation activities and custodial maintenance at a recreation site. The employee will work on managing recreational and athletic programs for various age groups and will be supervised by a Facilities Manager. The role involves working under departmental policies and procedures with some independent judgment required. The position is based on employment at will.
Requirements: Thorough knowledge of principles, practices, procedures, and techniques of recreational activities; knowledge of multi-disciplined recreation activities; ability to effectively supervise and direct subordinates; good public relation skills; ability to perform routine building maintenance; flexible work schedule availability; ability to interact with children in programs; maintain complex records; handle monetary transactions; ensure facility safety; establish effective working relationships with various groups; operate a City vehicle; learn basic computer skills; live scan fingerprint process required. DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Associates degree in recreation or physical education or two (2) years of experience in conducting organized recreational programs and recreation center operations.
