Position: RECREATION PROGRAM COORDINATOR – SPECIAL EVENTS
About: Recreation Program Coordinator at Parks & Recreation in Newport News, Virginia. This position is responsible for administering and coordinating recreational programs in various areas such as Instructional Programs, School Age Program, Special Community Centers, Cultural or Athletic Programs, Festivals, and Special Events. The role reports to the Recreation Program Supervisor.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Leisure Studies or related field; 1-2 years of experience in professional recreational programs or event management; 1 year of lead or supervisory experience; extensive knowledge of recreational programming, public relations, safety, supervision, and customer service; skills in critical thinking, interpersonal relationships, and computer operations; abilities in work coordination, communication, and budgeting.
