Position: Recreation Coordinator – Special Events
About: Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Recreation Coordinator – Special Events. The Recreation Coordinator reports to the Recreation Supervisor and is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing special events and programs to enhance the recreational experience for the community, collaborating with internal team members, community organizations, and vendors, overseeing permits, contracts, vendors, transportation logistics, equipment, and supplies for events, monitoring event operations for safety compliance, and responding to community inquiries and concerns regarding events in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Tourism, Business Management, or related coursework; two years of recreation programming, special event planning, or related experience; specialization in an event or festival management preferred (Special Event assignment only); any equivalent combination of experience and training providing the necessary knowledge and abilities to perform the work. This position is At-Will and FLSA Exempt.
