It is essential for the Cook to be mentally and physically fit to perform the outlined duties in a childcare setting where the well-being of children is paramount.
Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required; ECE coursework preferred; at least 18 years of age; relevant experience in a licensed childcare facility kitchen, commercial kitchen, public school cafeteria, or equivalent; must meet state specific guidelines for the role including having a food service/food handler’s permit or license according to state/local regulations, and following state and federal guidelines for health and safety training; proven judgment in addressing potential risks in a childcare setting, ensuring children’s safety and meeting their everyday needs, encouraging good social skills, and maintaining composure and professionalism; physical resilience to perform essential job functions including standing and walking for extended periods, lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 40 pounds, reaching, stretching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, or crawling, supervising by sight and sound, and working in varying outdoor temperatures from 20F to 95F with adequate mental and physical energy levels.
