About: The Learning Experience in Hackensack, NJ is seeking dedicated Cooks to prepare nutritionally balanced and appealing family-style meals for children. Cooks play a vital role in ensuring that all meals meet state and federal nutritional requirements while maintaining a safe and hygienic food environment for the children in our care. Physical and mental fitness are essential for this position due to the unique demands of childcare at our center.
Requirements: Must meet state specific guidelines High School Diploma/GED required; Relevant experience in a licensed childcare facility kitchen, commercial kitchen, public school cafeteria or equivalent; Must meet state specific guidelines for the role including food service/food handler’s permit or license; Proven judgment and caregiving skills for child interaction; Physical resilience including ability to lift and carry objects, stand for extended periods, and work in varying temperatures
