Position: Prep Cook job
About: Black Cap Coffee & Bakery in Vermont is seeking a Prep Cook to assist in food preparation for their efficient and healthy kitchens. The Prep Cook will be responsible for ensuring quality control, maintaining sanitation practices, and preparing ingredients for sandwich stations to deliver high-quality products to customers.
Requirements: Job Responsibilities: Assists in the creation of food offerings; Accepts deliveries, slices and portions accordingly to support production schedules; Pulls and stores ingredients for preparation; Cooks and prepares various food items; Communicates inventory needs; Follows health codes and sanitation standards; Reports equipment issues. Expectations: Start work by 5AM on scheduled days; Follow established procedures; Take direction from supervisors; Maintain regular attendance; Adhere to uniform and grooming standards. Physical Job Requirements: Lift up to 50 lbs multiple times; Squat, bend, and twist while carrying heavy objects; Stand for up to 8 hours. Required Skills & Experience: ServeSafe Food Handler Safety Certification provided; Strong communication, attention to detail, sense of urgency, and professionalism required; Ability to prioritize tasks and respond constructively to feedback.
