About: Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is one of the largest school districts in the United States, serving over 320,000 students in 600+ schools with a focus on providing a world-class learning experience for success in college, career, and civic life. The Nutrition Support Services (NSS) department offers all CPS students breakfast, lunch, and, at select schools, after-school meals at no charge, following USDA’s Child Nutrition Program meal patterns.
Requirements: Education Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Food Handlers Certificate or a Chicago Department of Public Health Food Service Managers Certificate; Experience Required: 1 year of previous work experience, or an equivalent combination of related training and experience; Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of basic sanitation principles and practices; ability to follow oral and written instructions, perform sanitation duties, lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, work in various physical environments, and differentiate colors and odors.
