Requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid Food Handlers Certificate or a Chicago Department of Public Health Food Service Managers Certificate; 1 year of previous work experience, or an equivalent combination of related training and experience; Knowledge of basic sanitation principles and practices. Must have basic math skills and be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use fractions. Must be able to handle all types of food; Ability to follow oral and written instructions, and basic skills in performing sanitation duties; Required to lift or exert a force of 25-40 lbs. frequently and 50-100 lbs. occasionally; Must be able to stand for long periods of time, stoop, crouch, climb, bend, reach, handle and finger objects; Must be able to consistently move yourself and things around in a safe and efficient manner; Must be able to taste and smell in order to identify flavors and odors and exercise frequent use of near visual acuity with the ability to identify and distinguish colors; Must be able to work in environments with some temperature extremes.
