Position: Plumbing Specialist
About: The South Dakota Department of Corrections, South Dakota State Prison located in Sioux Falls, is seeking a Plumbing Specialist to join their team. The Department is responsible for managing the state adult prison system, parole system, and juvenile corrections system, aiming to provide safe incarceration, community supervision, and rehabilitation programs.
Requirements: High school diploma or GED equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in plumbing preferred; proven experience as a plumber, preferably in a commercial or institutional setting; in-depth knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and equipment; familiarity with relevant plumbing codes and regulations; strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure; excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to pass background checks and security clearance required for working within a corrections facility; physical stamina for tasks requiring lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
