Position: MOTOR VEHICLE DRIVER (ROAD REPAIRMAN) (DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND HIGHWAYS) – TEAMSTER LOCAL 700 – COUPE
About: Under the general supervision of District Maintenance Supervisor, this position involves routine maintenance checks and operation of various vehicles such as snowplows, trucks, tractors, mowers, and spreaders. Responsibilities include performing repairs on roadways, pavements, guardrails, sewers, bridges, and shoulders. Additionally, the role entails snow and ice removal, grass cutting, tree and brush removal, loading and unloading vehicles with materials, and overall maintenance and cleaning duties. This position requires the ability to work rotating shifts, including holidays, and is considered safety-sensitive, requiring candidates to pass a drug test as part of the pre-employment background check process.
Requirements: High school diploma or General Education Development Test Certificate required; Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class “A”, is required; At least one (1) year of full-time work experience operating heavy road equipment requiring a Class “A” Driver’s License, including one season of snow plowing and ice removal on highways/roadways within the last five years, is required; Ability to work rotating shifts for 24/7 coverage, including holidays, is required
