Position: Medical Receptionist
About: Roles Medical Receptionist I Responsibilities include greeting individuals courteously, obtaining patient registration information, completing patient forms, answering phones, scheduling appointments, assisting with reschedules, sending necessary paperwork, and maintaining work area neat. Additional responsibilities for Receptionists with Refugee Patient Populations involve intake, scheduling appointments, communicating with service coordinators, providing translation services, and supporting refugee patients within the practice. Receptionists working on digital campaigns follow up on applications, send patient paperwork, and sign up applicants for seminars.
Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required; Course work in insurance/billing or medical practice education preferred; 1-2 years of experience in a medical or physician office or customer service environment preferred; Understanding of insurance verification; Excellent communication skills; Proficiency in patient care procedures and organizational policies; Service-oriented; Proficient in using standard desktop computer systems; Ability to compute mathematical calculations; Knowledge of medical terminology; Ability to work in a team-oriented environment; Good organizational and time management skills; Ability to handle confidential information; Ability to drive to other practice sites; Completion of IHA competency-based program within training period
