Position: Manager of Disaster Assistance Programs
About: SBP, founded in 2006 after Hurricane Katrina, is a social impact organization focused on disaster resilience and recovery. They work towards a future where everyone can rebound quickly from extreme weather events, providing assistance to the most vulnerable citizens. SBP takes a long-term, comprehensive approach to disaster resilience and recovery, offering training, building resilient homes and communities, and advocating for systemic change. Their work is supported by volunteers, AmeriCorps members, donors, and partners who are committed to racial equity and environmental sustainability.
Requirements: Experience with FEMA IA application and appeals processes; at least 3 years of experience building and leading teams; experience with Salesforce preferred; flexible mindset with critical thinking and problem-solving abilities; high degree of integrity; ability to deploy on short notice to disaster-affected areas for extended periods; demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects effectively; clear communication skills; ability to work with limited supervision; willingness to embody SBP’s values; commitment to continual improvement; experience working with diverse teams; clean driving record; ability to satisfactorily pass a background check; fluency in English and Spanish a plus
