About: Nichiha is seeking a Safety and Technical Skills Specialist with a focus on equipment knowledge, physical requirements, and key behavioral attributes. The role involves adherence to safety protocols, technical equipment operation, physical demands, and a strong emphasis on behaviors that promote a cooperative and proactive work environment in line with company values.
Requirements: Understand and follow all safety procedures; Current on all safety training; Wears all required PPE when necessary (steel toe boots, safety glasses, earplugs); Understand Lock Out Tag Out procedures for assigned areas; Complete General Plant Safety Training within the first 8 weeks; Able to train on how to operate a Bobcat and a Dingo; Understand what is acceptable and unacceptable items; Able to learn how to operator a diaphragm pump; Forklift operation knowledge; Bobcat operation knowledge; Dingo operation knowledge; Jack Hammer operation knowledge; Must be able to lift at least 50lbs; Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while operating a shovel or jackhammer; Holds Self and Others accountable; Contributes to ‘The Nichiha Way’; Shares lessons learned on safety practices; Demonstrates self-care and mutual-care; Team Player; Treats others with respect; Helps others; Communicates effectively; Thinks of the team before self; Self-awareness of strengths and weaknesses; Understanding of adhering to company policies and procedures (attendance, timekeeping, housekeeping); Open to constructive feedback; Actively seeks ways to develop; Effectively assist in resolving issues using job knowledge and skills; Able to identify issues and actively seeks to resolve; Offers pragmatic solutions; Continuously seeks new and innovative work methods; Understands performance expectations (quality, timeliness); Strives to improve efficiency/bottleneck issues; Adaptive to new ways of improvement; Questions current status for improvements
