Position: Lead Teacher
About: Family Services of Westchester, an organization with over 65 years of history impacting vulnerable communities, is seeking a dedicated Head Start Teacher to ensure the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of Head Start children while promoting family engagement in the program. The position requires adherence to federal Head Start Program Performance Standards, local, state, and agency policies, and the organization’s code of conduct and ethics statement.
Requirements: Associate degree in early childhood education or a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field that includes coursework equivalent to a major in early childhood education; transcripts required. English fluency; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and office equipment; strong communication skills; extensive knowledge of early childhood development and community resources; understanding of child abuse and neglect regulations; ability to work well with staff, children, and families; organizational and leadership skills; experience working with children from diverse backgrounds.
