Position: Landfill Spotter/Heavy Equipment Operator
About: Sandoval County Public Works Solid Waste Department in Rio Rancho, NM is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to manage refuse disposal at the landfill, ensuring operational efficiency and a safe environment for customers and employees.
Requirements: High school diploma or GED certification from an accredited institution; at least one year of experience in hauling and loading heavy equipment, with preference for those with experience in a solid waste environment; valid New Mexico Driver’s License and Commercial Driver’s License (CDL); Class A CDL preferred; ability to conduct pre-operation equipment inspections, operate heavy landfill equipment, and maintain daily equipment logs; willingness to adhere to safety regulations and undergo random alcohol and drug testing as per DOT and FMCSA standards.
