Position: Kitchen Assistant (Homeless Services Bureau)

About: The Homeless Services Bureau in Boston is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the city’s homeless population by providing emergency shelter, social services, and housing search assistance. The bureau aims to uphold the dignity and human rights of each individual served, collaborating with various agencies and advocates to find solutions to end homelessness. Offering a wide range of services and over 800 beds within the city, the bureau acknowledges and respects the unique stories of each homeless person.

Requirements: High school diploma or GED required; previous experience in a high-volume institutional kitchen; minimum of 5 years driving experience, with 2 years of commercial driving preferred; flexibility with working hours; ability to work on holidays as needed; possession and maintenance of all required licenses and certifications, including sanitation and allergen awareness training; capability to lift and carry stock up to 50 lbs; strong verbal and written communication skills; commitment to health equity, inclusion, and diversity; valid, active Massachusetts (MA) driver’s license with a good driving record
