Position: Houseparents – Relocation to Hershey, PA Required
About: Milton Hershey School, a renowned private school in Hershey, PA, is seeking married couples to join as Flex Houseparents. This unique role involves providing a nurturing family-like environment for 8-12 students from disadvantaged backgrounds, guiding their daily activities, and supporting their education on campus.
Requirements: Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings; this is a two-person job for couples who have been legally married for at least two years; both spouses should be age 27 or older; no more than three dependent children may reside in the student home; abide by campus rules including no smoking, weapons, or alcohol on duty; limitations on pets with only fish and one approved dog allowed; valid driver’s license and ability to drive student home vans; comfort in leading students in daily devotions and attending Sunday chapel services; high school diploma or GED required; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; demonstrate a high degree of integrity as role models for students; both spouses must complete an individual employment application.
Benefits: Salary of $43,825 per person (approx. $150,000 per couple), including free housing and meals while on duty; comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, health savings and flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability options, and retirement savings; relocation assistance and paid training provided; schedule of nine days on followed by three days off with a three-week paid summer vacation.
