Position: Houseparents, Full-Time – Relocation to Hershey, PA Required
About: Milton Hershey School, a renowned private school founded in 1909 by Milton and Catherine Hershey, is currently seeking married couples to serve as Houseparents. Houseparents at Milton Hershey School provide guidance and support to students in a family-like environment, overseeing a group of 8-12 students in on-campus homes, and playing a crucial role in student development and maintaining a nurturing atmosphere.
Requirements: Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings; couples who have been legally married for at least two years; both spouses should be age 27 or older; no more than three dependent children may reside in the student home; abide by campus regulations including a smoke-free and weapon-free environment, limitations on pets, and no alcohol on duty; valid driver’s license and ability to drive student home vans; comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking them to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services; high school diploma or GED; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; demonstrate a high degree of integrity as role models for students; both spouses must complete individual employment applications.
Benefits: Salary of $43,825 per person (a total compensation package of approx. $150,000 per couple which includes free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more); comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, and vision insurance, health savings and flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability options, retirement savings; relocation assistance and paid training provided; schedule of nine days on followed by three days off with personal time during workdays; three-week paid summer vacation.
