Position: Housekeeper job
About: Travis County Juvenile Probation Department (TCJPD) is hiring a part-time Housekeeper to join their Facility Operations Division. The position involves custodial and/or laundry duties, maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in TCJPD facilities, cleaning and maintaining offices, restrooms, and floors, handling laundry, towels, and linens, and following safety procedures. This is a part-time, temporary position that participates in the County Retirement Program and may be eligible for health, dental, and vision benefits based on eligibility requirements.
Requirements: One year of general housekeeping or laundry attending and relevant training or experience in custodial work; must be at least 21 years old. Knowledge of janitorial/custodial/laundry functions, cleaning equipment, safety practices, and regulations. Skills in operating cleaning equipment, communication, and following instructions. Ability to work independently, manage timelines, establish effective working relationships, and operate cleaning equipment safely. Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, perform various physical tasks, and handle potentially hazardous materials. Criminal background check, driving, education, and employment verification required.
