Position: Housekeeper job
About: Breaking Ground operates nearly 4,000 units of housing across New York City, along with housing in upstate New York and Connecticut. Supportive housing – affordable housing paired with services designed to help people maintain their homes for the long-term – is widely recognized as a proven and cost-effective solution to chronic homelessness. Breaking Ground’s programs and services help people experiencing street homelessness to come indoors. The Housekeeper role reports to the Facility Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for maintaining the common areas of the safe haven.
Requirements: High School Diploma, GED, Trade School Diploma, or equivalent; Comparable work experience; Experience operating a vacuum cleaner, high-speed buffer; Ability to lift and move furniture, appliances, etc.; Ability to stand for several hours during a shift and climb stairs in the event of an emergency; Experience working with special needs populations a plus; Basic knowledge of using a computer is a plus
