Position: HOTEL EVENT SALES MANAGER

About: Hyatt Regency San Antonio is seeking an Event Sales Manager to join their exciting and fun events team. The hotel consists of 630 guest rooms and 29,000 square feet of event space, offering unique opportunities to impress and delight future groups within the local market. The Event Sales Manager will be responsible for capturing local catering business while maximizing banquet space to meet and exceed sales goals in a dynamic and rewarding environment at Hyatt Regency San Antonio.

Requirements: A minimum of 3-5 years of hotel event sales/event planning; Bachelor’s degree and/or 3+ years of hotel and/or food & beverage experience preferred; Knowledge of the San Antonio social and local events market; Experience with vendors and leveraging business relationships; Participation in local networking organizations; Proficiency in general computer knowledge and programs, including Hyatt sales systems and Microsoft products; Professional verbal and written communication skills; Experience in creative development of marketing concepts and custom proposals; Understanding of negotiation and interpretation of contracts; Ability to maintain price integrity in food and beverage; Skilled in upselling techniques to increase revenue per attendee; Proficient in data analytics for sales success; Ability to manage retention, reactivation, and acquisition accounts; Adherence to prospecting standards and goals; Strong time management and multi-tasking skills; Positive leadership characteristics to inspire employees; Experience in training and guiding a team through event sales, planning, and execution; Comprehensive knowledge of all operational departments within a hotel; Knowledge of meeting room set-ups, sleeping room configurations, and meeting space management; Engage with meeting planners and vendors for event set-up details; Timely follow-up with internal and external clients.
