Position: HOSTLER
About: The New York City Police Department is looking for Hostlers to join their Mounted Unit/Civ And Cadet. The NYPD Mounted Unit provides horseback patrol support for the Department, ensuring high visibility and community interaction. Hostlers are responsible for the daily care and well-being of the horses assigned to their facility in Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens.
Requirements: Six months of full-time, paid experience in grooming, feeding, cleaning, and inspection of at least 3 horses daily. Prior experience with horse care, ability to hand walk, groom, load horses, and identify maladies. Familiarity with tools associated with horse care.
