Position: HEAVY EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN
About: Under the general direction of the supervisory staff of the Fleet Maintenance Department, our company diagnoses, adjusts, repairs, or overhauls mechanical, electrical, and physical problems of heavy machinery. This full-time union position requires considerable physical ability and offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Requirements: Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or higher; Must possess at least 3 years of full-time work experience repairing heavy equipment; Must possess at least 2 years of work experience working on hydraulic systems and air brake systems; Must possess certification in diesel technology or diesel mechanics; Must possess experience conducting Department of Transportation (DOT) Vehicle Inspections; Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License; Knowledge of basic math, tools, tractor/heavy equipment engines, and basic computer knowledge; Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot heavy equipment performance problems; Considerable physical ability for manual labor and use of arms and legs moving the whole body.
