Position: Golf Course General Manager
About: The City of Louisville is seeking a well-rounded Golf Course General Manager to direct and manage the Coal Creek Golf Course. The General Manager will perform high-level leadership, management, and administrative work overseeing the pro shop and grounds operations to fulfill the organization’s mission in serving the community by offering outstanding golfing experiences. This role works under the direction of the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Open Space and is responsible for the management of Coal Creek Golf Course maintenance and operations including various profit centers.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from college or university with major coursework in business administration, parks & recreation, sports management, agronomy, horticulture, environmental science, landscape architecture, or a closely related field; Five (5) years of progressive experience as a Golf Professional, Golf Course Maintenance Superintendent, or equivalent; Experience operating a high-volume golf facility with 25,000 or more annual rounds; Experience in golf shop operations, including merchandise selection, pricing, and revenue projections; Experience in golf course maintenance operations including horticulture, agronomy, soil science, and irrigation; PGA member working toward a Class A membership; Supervisory skills including fostering a positive organizational climate, encouraging accountability, demonstrating leadership, and collaboration with various stakeholders; Excellent public relations, interpersonal, and management skills; Effective written and verbal communication skills; Ability to utilize computer management systems for tracking revenues, rounds, merchandise, and other statistical information relevant to achieving reporting standards; Ability to implement marketing strategies and enhance participation, revenue, and golf course promotion; Knowledge and expertise in golf course business management, leadership in strategic planning, and advancing the goals of the City through Parks, Recreation & Open Space; Current Colorado Driver License in good standing with no major violations in the past three years
