Position: General Manager II

About: GFL, a waste management company, is seeking a General Manager to oversee the activities of a multi-million dollar revenue facility operation, ensuring safety and efficiency. The role involves setting strategic direction, maintaining positive employee relations, and promoting profitable operations and resource management. Key responsibilities include overseeing facility managers, maintaining workforce productivity, adhering to laws and standards, and implementing cost control programs. The position requires a strong analytical and operational background in the waste industry, leadership skills, and the ability to interpret documents effectively. Travel may be required based on organizational structure. The role involves physical and mental demands, as well as working both indoors and in outdoor conditions.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university or relevant operational experience; five or more years of experience in the waste industry or equivalent combination of education and experience; working knowledge of waste collection equipment; strong leadership, communication, and management skills; ability to interpret safety rules and manuals effectively; physical ability to lift/move weights; willingness to travel as needed based on organizational structure
