Position: FORENSIC PATHOLOGY FELLOW (MEDICAL EXAMINER’S OFFICE) – ACTIVELY RECRUITED
About: The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office is seeking a Forensic Pathologist to perform autopsies and postmortem examinations to determine causes and manners of death. The role involves working under supervision, collecting evidence for law enforcement agencies, preparing reports, conducting scene investigations, and providing expert testimony in court proceedings.
Requirements: Graduation from an accredited school of medicine with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Osteopathic Medicine or a directly related field; Must possess a valid MD license to practice medicine in the State of Illinois in good standing; Ability to obtain Anatomic Pathology or Forensic Pathology Board Certifications; Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance; Ability to perform autopsies and follow medical instructions; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; Physical ability to perform very heavy work
