Position: Field Sales Consultant – San Francisco
About: This position is with Sysco Specialty Meat Group (SSMG) in San Francisco, CA. The selected candidate will join the upcoming sales class on December 2nd. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining business relationships, making in-person visits and presentations, managing customer orders, and participating in training and customer events. Qualifications require a high school diploma, with a preference for a 4-year degree in relevant fields, 2 years of prior food service and/or sales experience, and professional skills in consultative sales and customer relations. Decision-making authority involves independently handling relationship building, time and customer management, customer pricing, and self-motivation. Supervision comes from Sales VPs, Directors, or Managers.
Requirements: Education: High school diploma; Preferred: 4-year degree in culinary arts, business, marketing, agriculture/animal science or related studies. Experience: 2 years prior food service and/or sales background strongly preferred; Center of the Plate/Meat Proteins sales preferred. Professional Skills: Deep expertise in meat and seafood category or restaurant/culinary background, consultative sales ability, self-motivated and accountable for time management, strong customer relations skills, basic computer skills and proficiency with MS Outlook. Decision-Making Authority: Most important decisions made fully independently related to building relationships, time and customer management, customer pricing, and self-motivation; most important decisions made with review and approval of supervisors on sales strategy, contract pricing, customer pricing, and authorizing credits and returns.
