Position: Facilities Manager

About: Invitae, now part of LabCorp, is seeking a Facilities Manager to join its team in San Francisco, CA. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for ensuring the building infrastructure is maintained to operations and landlord specifications and requirements. This position will ensure all facility equipment and systems are functioning, clean, orderly, and compliant with applicable regulations. The Facilities Manager will manage the day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance and repair of building equipment and regularly interact with vendors. The ideal candidate will have prior biotech, pharmaceutical, or laboratory experience.

Requirements: Associates degree in a Facilities-related field or 4 years of active military service or minimum 7 years of commercial facilities experience in one of the building trades; Minimum 5 years of facility management experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred; Experience within a clinical diagnostics laboratory, biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry highly preferred; Previous supervisory experience preferred; Experience in the maintenance/facilities trades, formal apprenticeship, or on-the-job training preferred; Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel); Knowledge of general facilities safety practices and procedures; Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning repairs and maintenance; Ability to work safely with hazardous materials, including hazardous waste; Ability to manipulate equipment up to 50 pounds; Ability to work on a ladder for routine actions such as replacing light bulbs and ceiling tiles; Good manual dexterity, with the ability to use hand-tools; Ability to read and understand facilities drawings, handbook formulas, and a variety of maintenance and repair related equipment, including measuring instruments such as caliper and scale
