Position: External Organizing Coordinator
About: SEIU Local 1 is a pioneer in empowering low-wage workers in service industries and advocating for social justice on various critical issues such as healthcare, immigration, and education reform. We are currently seeking an Organizing Coordinator in Detroit, MI to spearhead engaging campaigns aimed at organizing new workers.
Requirements: At least five (5) years of experience in developing and overseeing large field campaigns and managing teams of organizers; excellent oral and written advocacy skills, with public speaking experience; demonstrated commitment to social justice; willingness to travel and work long, irregular hours, nights, and weekends; proficiency in Microsoft Office, desktop publishing, and database software; ability to collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds; fluency in a second language is a plus; possession of a car and a valid driver’s license
