Position: Events Director
About: ASM Global, a leading company in managing public assembly facilities, is currently seeking a Director of Events for the Shreveport Convention Center/Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana. The Director of Events will work under the General Manager’s guidance and will be responsible for various functions in alignment with ASM policies.
Requirements: B.S. in Hotel Management or related field or equivalent experience; 3-5 years of Event Management experience in a Convention Center or similar venue; 1-3 years of supervisory experience desired; excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required; proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; ability to effectively supervise staff and handle personnel issues; considerable knowledge of safety regulations and hospitality/customer service orientation; ability to prioritize multiple projects and negotiate effectively; flexibility to adjust work schedule for events and travel extensively; must be 18 years of age or older; ability to pass background/credit check
