Position: Events Associate
About: The Events Associate position at the Humanities Institute (HI) involves overseeing approximately 50-75 events throughout the academic year, coordinating with student support staff, implementing event marketing strategies, maintaining event planning calendars, and collaborating with staff and directors for program scheduling. The role also includes logistical planning for events, assessing guest experiences, managing virtual event interfaces, coordinating supplemental gatherings, and utilizing Workday for financial transactions. Additionally, the Events Associate may assist with event recording, livestreaming, marketing material development, and student staff supervision and training. Some evening and weekend hours may be required to support events, with occasional late-night events.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality Management, or related field required; minimum of two (2) years experience in managing academic and/or non-profit events; familiarity with media technologies such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and audio/video recording equipment; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe applications; professional or academic background in arts and/or humanities preferred; experience with Workday, PeopleSoft, or similar systems; knowledge of survey software like Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, Google Forms; familiarity with audio/video editing software like Audacity, Adobe Premiere Pro, Handbrake
