About: Christopher Newport University – Main Campus is seeking an Events and Conferences Facility Coordinator for their Newport News, Virginia location. This position is responsible for managing events and conferences within the university setting.
Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent education and experience that equates to a high school diploma; Event management experience; Customer service experience; Experience with word processing and spreadsheet software; Driver’s License. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in higher education, tourism/event management or related field; Collegiate Conference and Events Professional certification; Experience in theater management; Experience working in a university setting; Experience with Microsoft Office suite; Experience with basic AV needs and technology; Experience with event management software and/or room diagramming software and/or conference programmer software.
