Position: Event Sous Chef
About: Downtown LA Proper Hotel is a luxurious hotel located in Los Angeles, known for its historic building transformed into a modern, sophisticated space by designer Kelly Wearstler. The hotel features 148 rooms and suites with vintage California influences, original works by LA artists, and multiple dining options overseen by renowned chefs. It also offers a split-level rooftop pool-deck with stunning city views and versatile event spaces, incorporating elements of the building’s sporting-club past.
Requirements: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in a hotel or upscale restaurant environment; Culinary degree or equivalent experience in culinary arts; Proven track record of successfully leading in a fast-paced culinary environment and effectively prioritizing demands; Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to resolve issues promptly and efficiently; Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by business needs; Experience in special events and catering operations
